Peer Mentoring Program

Integrated Sciences Mentoring Program

The Integrated Sciences Mentoring Program provides mentoring support for Integrated Sciences students by promoting and facilitating discussions amongst senior students (students with approved applications) and junior students (students working on their applications). The Integrated Sciences Senior Peer Mentors provide information to newly admitted and returning students about course planning and registration, and provide feedback to students regarding Integrated Sciences application essays and course selections. Discussion amongst mentors and mentees allows students to learn about various volunteer and academic opportunities on campus that will facilitate their educational goals, helping to build a stronger community for Integrated Sciences students.

Mentees will have benefits such as:

Advice on how to contact faculty mentors - both listed and unlisted on the website
One-on-one guidance from senior ISCI students on the whole degree proposal process
Networking opportunities with your fellow ISCI students throughout the year at social events and workshops
Insight into what’s beyond your ISCI degree through connecting with ISCI alumni

Mentors will benefit from this role in some of the following ways:

Gain leadership and mentorship experience
Give advice and guidance to your mentee
Meet via zoom or in person once a month to answer questions and share your experience
Connect with your mentee to ensure their smooth transition into the program
Access to mentor-mentee social events and workshops, where you can meet and socialize with fellow ISCI students
Opportunity to meet and connect with ISCI alumni

And much more!
