On Saturday, March 4th the Ignite Conference 2023 will be held. This is an in-person professional development conference focusing on preparing Science students for their careers in the post-pandemic job field, with the theme of "Ignite Your Career: Post-Pandemic". This conference brings together various of industry and healthcare professionals, researchers, alumni and graduate science students from diverse scientific disciplines to host professional development workshops. Speakers will also share their career experiences in panels focusing on different areas of healthcare and potential careers outside of science available to students.
The purpose of this event is to provide Science students with:
- Employable skills such as entrepreneurship and building a professional online presence
- Perspectives on the different career paths following graduation in industry, research, technology, law, business, and more
- Insight into various healthcare professions such as medicine, optometry, and others
- Advice on getting started in research and how to equip themselves for their future career
